We are in debt and I don’t want to file bankruptcy. After all I created the debt so I should pay it, but I also do not want to keep paying the minimum amount due for the rest of my life. I’m thinking of trying credit counseling and debt consolidation. Does anyone know of a good company? I tried my local credit counseling center that is through the government and they were rude and inattentive. I am in the United States. Thanks for the advice.

There are a few bills that I have which I would like to consolidate to just have one bill. One of those includes a personal loan. Are there any reputable debt consolidation companies out there that may be able to help me with this? If so, please let me know.

I’m a little over 13,000 dollars in debt with combined unsecured loans. I’m trying to find a conslidation company who will give me low payments. I’m not looking to pay my debts off fast. I’m looking for lower payments. Even if it takes longer time to do so. I need to be able to pay rent and utilities. Anyone have advise?

I have about $40,000 debt from 3 different credit cards and would like to know my options on getting rid of this debt, considering my credit scord is already down the drain. At this moment, I’m not concern about saving my credit score anymore. I can deal with the bad credit for 7yrs. Should I work with a debt consolidation company or stop payments and deal with the creditors directly? Hoping that they will reduce my balance. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This forum has been really helpful in the past.
I might not use the advice always but I always appreciate the feedback.
Here’s the scoop- I currently have $55,000 in Credit card debt.
It is totally stressing me out and it is really dificult to keep up with the payments.
1-Shoud I us a debt consolidation ageny. I spoke with them and they claim they can greatly reduce the interest and thus the monthly payments- but you do need to pay them a fee. Also, the payments are still close to what I pay now but I can get the cards paid off in 5 years instead of 17 years.
2-Should I get a home equity Loan.
